Autism is a complex brain disorder that inhibits a person's ability to communicate and develop social relationships, and is often accompanied by behavioural challenges. That is the official description but the way autism can affect an individual and their family is far more complex. April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day and the challenge is for all of us to try and understand autism better, so in this podcast, the expert who believes early diagnosis is key and the mother who has embraced her three year old son's diagnosis and is incredibly positive about their future.
