Folate levels can drop when you're exposed to the sun.

If you're pregnant you don't need anyone to tell you it can be a hormonal rollercoaster but did you know that sunlight and your exposure to it might be affecting your hormone levels? Some of the latest to come out of Queensland is showing that sunlight depletes the levels of folate in women of childbearing age. Scientists are still trying to explore how these two events are linked and what the implications might be for advising pregnant women and their neonatal supplements but the research is showing clear links between exposure to Ultraviolet Light and falling levels of folate.
