Imagine being convinced that you are the star of the most popular reality TV show on the planet—Peter Weir’s 1998 film The Truman Show may spring to mind. For some people with what’s known as the Truman Show Delusion, the concept of this film is disturbingly real. We hear one man’s experience of this delusion, and a psychiatrist who reflects on the impact that popular culture can have on our mental health. Joel Werner reports from New York.
