The poetics of relearning Aboriginal language and a lover's condescension are the subject matter of two poems shortlisted for a new literary prize for young Indigenous writers working in either poetry or short fiction. Six emerging writers under 30 have been shortlisted for the third Nakata Brophy Prize and today we meet two of them, whose approaches to poetry are very different.
