The West Australian government seems to be mounting a three-pronged attack on Aboriginal people and their cultural heritage. It started in July last year when the State Government released draft amendments to the Aboriginal Heritage Act (1972). In November came the announcement of the planned closure of remote indigenous communities. And to cap it off, in February tough new anti-protest laws were tabled in State Parliament.
