October 27th, 2016

Episode 865 of 1091 episodes

Wallonia in Belgium has lifted its blockade on the CETA trade deal between the EU and Canada. CETA had been seven years in the making and that had been approved by twenty-seven of the twenty-eight members of the EU. We talk to Trade Campaigner at Global Justice Now, Guy Taylor, and Luisa Santos, Director of International Relations at Business Europe about what caused the Belgian region to change its mind. Meanwhile, something's going wrong at social media network Twitter as potential suitors walk away and the share price dives. And we examine how Italy's banking crisis threatens to topple Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
