The international team collected DNA samples from "a diverse melting pot" of more than 6,000 volunteers of European, Native American and African ancestry. Emma Soames, editor at large of Saga Magazine, and Professor Desmond Tobin, one of the senior authors of the study, discussed on the programme the potential of the discovery.
