Two charities, The National Obesity Forum and The Public Health Collaboration, have attacked Public Health England for advising people to cut saturated fats and to base meals around pasta, potatoes or rice. Public Health England have hit back calling the claims “irresponsible”. Dr Aseem Malhotra, cardiologist advisor in the National Obesity Forum and a founding member of The Public Health Collaboration, and Professor Susan Jebb at Oxford University who is on Public Health England's obesity board, clash over the claims from the report.
