A major exhibition about on the life and work of Yves Saint Laurent opens at the Bowes Museum in County Durham next month. Ahead of it, Rebecca Jones spoke to Pierre Berge, who was Saint Laurent's lover and business partner for 50 years. Speaking of the relentless pressures of the fashion industry and resulting alcohol and drug addictions, Berg said: "He was born with a nervous breakdown."
