The Polish army officer who infiltrated Auschwitz

September 19th, 2015

Episode 622 of 1744 episodes

Seventy five years ago, a Polish army officer Witold Pilecki walked into the midst of a roundup the Nazis were carrying out in Warsaw, gave a false name, and was arrested and sent to Auschwitz. Jarek Garlinksi was the first translator into English of Pilecki's final post-war report on Auschwitz, and he spoke on the programme.
