Episode 45 of 1340 episodes

The Afghan President Ashraf Ghani attended an international conference in London on Thursday where he secured continued support from the international community for Afghanistan's development. In his first broadcast interview he told the BBC's Lyse Doucet that Afghanistan can achieve its goals, despite a lack of security. He claimed "we don't need aid agencies to transform ourselves." Speaking on the future of his country's security he said: "We've not authorised night raids...they are misreports." First broadcast Today programme 5 December 2014.
