'Trolls' who use fake online profiles could be prosecuted by CPS

Internet trolls could face criminal charges for creating fake profiles online as part of plans being considered by the Crown Prosecution Service in England and Wales. It says adults would be charged if posts were indecent, grossly offensive, or so false that they caused distress and anxiety. The Director of Public Prosecutions, Alison Saunders, said it's right to take action when social media is “being used for crime” and “where it's seriously impacting on people's lives. Folami Prehaye's ex-boyfriend set up a Facebook account in her name and used it to post intimate pictures of her.
