Tonight we are taking a sort of literary journey through the first part of the twentieth century American literary landscape. The Jazz Age 1920s, with its dreams of a new dawn. Then it comes all crashing down in the 1930s Dustbowl Depression, where drifters are on the road looking for work. But there is another migration going on too, as black Americans, still haunted by the slavery and Civil War, travel north. And at the same time, in Germany, the author Hans Fallada struggled with his very own daemons - an author now being rediscovered in the Anglophone world.
In a time where we're all threatened by a rhetoric of hate from the people in power; A Gay And A NonGay challenges many of our differences head on and promises that no matter who you are, or what you're into (Bruce Springsteen or Britney), love is love and gay and nongays can be friends.
