In the 1960s many young unwed mothers were forced to give up their babies for adoption. Kate Howarth was a teenage mother who gave evidence at the Senate Inquiry into the punishing adoption practices and she wrote a book about her experiences , "Ten Hail Marys." Kate refused to relinquish her son for adoption. Her new book tells the story of what happened next to this young indigenous mother.
