DAPPLED CITIES â“ Birds Fresh from the stage of The Save FBi fundraiser shows we have an unreleased Dappled Cities song called Birds. A tribute to influential krautrock band Neu who featured 2 original members of Kraftwerk in the 1970âs. A recent compilation called Brand Neu featured tracks from LCD Soundsystem, Foals, Fujiya and Miyagi, Cornelius and even Oasis, alongside some other great contemporary bands who all cite Neu as an influence. If you want a history lesson from a band that sounds as good today as when they started, check out Neuâs back catalogue. This track from Dappled Cities didnât end up on the CD, but is well worth a listen. Dappled cities have just dropped album number three called Zounds which they recorded between 4 studios in Sydney and New York, the album was co produced with Chris Coady who has previously engineered TV on the Radioâs hit album âœDear Scienceâ along side many others. Dappled Cities are really busy launching the album, on the road with Philadelphia Grand Jury. Here is Dappled Cities with their tribute to Neu a track titled Birds. Old Men of Moss Mountain â“ Cabin Fever That was 5 lads from Sydney, that have been experimenting with the bizarre side of hip- hop for the past 5 years, they are called Old Men Of Moss Mountain and they recently released the Swamp EP, which is now available for download for free on their myspace page. In 2009 they are putting their production hat on and working on their Debut album to be released later this year. The guys are currently in rehearsals putting together a live show. That was Old Men of Moss Mountain and their song Cabin Fever from the Swamp EP. The Black Ryder - Burn and Fade The Black Ryder is a duo comprising Aimee and Scott, two former members of The Morning After Girls in their brand new project. Burn & Fade is the first taste of whatâs to come from their debut album âBuy The Ticket, Take The Rideâ. The track is not for sale and is only available through free download here on the Beforecast. The band are headlining their own shows in Sydney & Melbourne and are doing some support for like minded US bands the Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Warlocks. Black Ryderâs album is out October 2009 but here is their new song Burn and Fade. Le Kingste â“ The Way The World Turns That was Le Kingste made up of 3 brothers Paul, Caleb, and Arthur along side one honorary brother Jack. Originally from Tamworth, they then moved to Newcastle and now firmly based in Sydney. Theyâre currently unsigned and have independently released their debut self titled e.p. In 2009 they also won the NSW Garage 2 V band competition, which saw them win a spot opening at the V Festival. Le Kingste are currently writing material for their debut album which is being recorded later this year and is due for release early in 2010. Album is tentatively title 'Deep Sea Diver' but that is a bit of and exclusive for you on the Beforecast. More to come from Le Kingste and their debut album in 2010, but until then that was âœThe Way The World Turnsâ brand new single from those boys. Belles Will Ring/ Cloud Control - Al & Liam (Live medley) EXCLUSIVE And the final offering for this monthâs Beforecast is an exclusive live recording from the Fbi studios. A medley from Liam Judson from Belles Will Ring and Alastair Wright from Cloud control. An exclusive live performance that we captured here at FBi in the lead up to the very successful and special FBi fundraiser hosted by Ivy League records, called A League of Their Own. Ivy League records and all their artists getting together to play a gig at the Gaelic Club to help raise some money for FBi it was a fantastic night and in the lead up we had these guys on air playing this song. Both bands are planning on spending the rest of 2009 getting busy writing new material for new albums both due in 2010.
