Big bad banks; Ramona Koval on the trail of her father; Amira Hass: an Israeli reporter in Palestine

April 22nd, 2015

Episode 173 of 662 episodes

The senate committee hearing into the financial planning industry currently underway in Canberra, has been driven by a handful of politicians - Nick Xenophon, Greens Senator Peter Whish-Wilson and Labor senators Deborah O'Neill and Sam Dastyari. Former Radio National presenter, Ramona Koval's latest book is about her search for her father. Ramona always suspected that the man who was married to her mother was not her real father so she set out to prove herself right. Amira Hass grew up in a home of dissidents in Israel; her parents were Holocaust survivors and communists who were critical of Israeli policies. But she says it is not because of her parents influence that she is against the Israeli occupation of Palestine. It is her choice to be against not only the occupation, but the whole system of discrimination and dispossession.
