Madame Binh was handpicked by Ho Chi Minh to represent her country as the only female member of the negotiating team at the Paris Peace Accords, and she is the only surviving member of that group who signed the accords that were meant to stop the Vietnam war from 1973. At that time she was Foreign Minister of Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Viet Nam. She subsequently served as Minister for Education and was Vietnam’s Vice President for five years in the united Vietnam. She continues to work, running the Office of Vietnam Fund for Peace and Development and her passion remains the promotion of education and dealing with the ongoing legacy and problems associated with Agent Orange.
