Dr Karen Hitchcock is a practising medical doctor and a writer of short stories, essays, columns and fiction. She is the author "Dear Life - on caring for the elderly", Quarterly Essay 57 published this month. In 2009 she published the short story collection "Little White Slips", she writes a regular column on medicine and society for The Monthly and she has her first novel coming out later this year.
