Professor Hugh Taylor is the founding head of the Indigenous Eye Health Unit at the University of Melbourne's School of Population Health. He worked with ophthalmologist Fred Hollows in the late 1970s, and has since dedicated his life and career to restoring eyesight and tackling preventable blindness through research and activism. A particular focus of Professor Taylor's work has been the elimination of trachoma in remote Indigenous communities.
