When FOI or Freedom on Information passed into law in Australia in 1982, it was hailed as a long awaited method for citizens to gain access to information on how they were being governed and for what purpose. So is it reasonable that British American Tobacco is using FOI to access survey data on teenagers and tobacco use from the Victorian Cancer Council?
