April 16th, 2016

How do you make sense of a massacre? That's precisely the question six Aboriginal and four First Nations artists from Canada have confronted in a new exhibition. With Secrecy and Despatch curated by Tess Allas and David Garneau remembers the 1816 Appin Massacre when at least 14 Dharawal people including women and children were shot or driven off a cliff by colonial agents under military orders issued by the Governor, Lachlan Macquarie.
