This week on the Breakfasters…As the year comes to an end, book reviewer Jenny Niven discussed two reflective publications: The Best Australian Essays of 2011 and The Best Australian stories of 2011. Kon Karapanagiotidis from the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre came in to the studios to talk about the importance of fundraising and community support, especially at this time of year. Film buff Thomas Caldwell reviewed the South Korean film, The Yellow Sea. John Mitchell, the current Mayor of the City of Greater Geelong, appointed Jess as a Cultural Attaché to his fair city; and last but definitely not least, the Breakfasters had their final show for 2011 on the Rooftop of the Corner Hotel. Ben and Jess premiered their their Twitter inspired song, 'The Ballad of Bong On Yoko'!This Breakfasters podcast is the last for 2011. Fee, Ben and Jess are taking a well-earned break over summer, and will be back in January 2012.
