Episode 200 :: Creative Process

August 31st, 2014

Episode 19 of 253 episodes

We'll we made it to 200! Still blows me away that I've made 200 of the Sunday videos. There are actually way more than that when you consider the vlog episodes, Masterclass Live, etc. Thank YOU for watching! Now on to our episode for today. This is the first part in a full series on seeing a conceptual body of work from start to finish. I'm really excited about this. In our video today, we start at the beginning. This is the reseach and conceptual phase and I'm going to share how I go about this with you. We will check in on this project periodically to see how it goes. This project will ultimately be a set of portraits of people who live in the building where my studio is located. The building turns 100 this year and I want to do a set of portraits for the art exhibition we are having. These portraits will incorporate abstraction to some level to remove them from the present and put them into the context of the 100 year history of this building.
