Treat yourself to a healthy helping of The Last of the Mohicans! James Fenimore Cooper, today on The Classic Tales Podcast. Welcome to The Classic Tales Podcast. Thank you for listening. Today’s story is a healthy sampling of The Last of the Mohicans, by James Fenimore Cooper, available in its entirety at www.thebestaudiobooks.com. This book was easily one of the most difficult books to record for me, and I’m not entirely sure why. I think, among other things, that Cooper’s style itself is rather difficult to simply read aloud. Some of his sentences were 30,40, even over 50 words long. And so to figure out the best possible way to read basically a paragraph at one go was a bit of a challenge. Also, the book is 16 hours long, so it was no small feat. In choosing the sample to present to you today, of course, the simplest thing would be to release the first few chapters. But I really wanted you to get a sense of the rich adventure of the book, and after 4 chapters, we are just gaining momentum after meeting the characters. I hope you like it. Though difficult, it was an incredibly rewarding project, and I thank those of you who are supporting members who helped to make it possible. And of course, if you like today’s story, you can get the entire audiobook at www.thebestaudiobooks.com. http://store.thebestaudiobooks.com/the-last-of-the-mohicans-by-james-fenimoore-cooper-audiobook-download-p215.aspx And now, a sample of The Last of the Mohicans, by James Fenimore Cooper. NOTE: I had some tech issues with the music this week. Sorry about that.
