A very casual friend has been continually sending vague messages asking to set a meeting recently. He wanted to run a few ideas past me. Then it was a time-sensitive issue only I could solve. Neither was getting my attention. Yesterday another friend called and explained that she needed to drop her car off for repair. Her husband was out of town, and she asked if I would be willing to follow her to the shop and give her a ride home when it was convenient. Instantly I said, "I'm ready right now, let's go!" So what's the difference? Zig Ziglar said, "You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.". In the first instance, I felt used, abused, and didn't want to be bothered. In the second, I was helping a friend in need and felt good about being of service. That's important to me. Something to think about today.
In a time where we're all threatened by a rhetoric of hate from the people in power; A Gay And A NonGay challenges many of our differences head on and promises that no matter who you are, or what you're into (Bruce Springsteen or Britney), love is love and gay and nongays can be friends. </div><div><br></div><div>An independent podcast from James Barr (@imjamesbarr) and Dan Hudson (@DanHudson).
