April 16th, 2015

Episode 809 of 923 episodes

Interactive social media platforms designed specifically to enable real-world sexual encounters are now in common use. Tinder, Blendr and Grindr can be found lurking amongst the apps of many a smartphone. What narratives do we inadvertently (or consciously) create simply by using these apps? Classically trained composer and alternative pop star Jack Colwell is a young musician and social media expert who has worked with Architecture in Helsinki, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Ella Hooper. In this revealing lunchtime talk, he explores the practice of weaving storytelling into the real, the virtual and the sexual.
