#323 - Pokercast Episode 323 - Coverage of the Big One for One Drop with Remko Rinkema

July 3rd, 2014

Episode 35 of 306 episodes

On the Pokercast this week: The show begins with discussion of the tragic events of the week regarding Chad Brown and Johannes Strassmann. Tough week for the poker world, but there is lots to cover and Mike and Adam move on to break down all the events of the week at the WSOP starting with The Big One For One Drop. The guys talk about all the dramatic hands that were played over the course of the tournament, including the big hand between Vanessa Selbst and Sam Trickett as well as the incredible beat that Connor Drinan took with aces. The rest of the event is covered and then the guys move on to talking about the issue that arose after the winner, Daniel Colman, refused to talk to the media after he won. Remko Rinkema joins the discussion to talk about the issue from the Pokernews perspective. Mike and Adam then move on to talk about the $50k Poker Players Championship and the amazing story of Brandon Shack-Harris' summer continues. Mike brags about his small piece of the eventual second place finisher Shack-Harris and the discussion moves to the winner John "World" Hennigan with Mike postulating that Hennigan should get serious consideration for the Poker Hall of Fame. Not to be outdone, Adam slips in a very big brag of his own before they move on to the rest of the events that concluded during the week including the massively successful Monster Stack event. A couple non-WSOP stories are covered including Russ Boyd's apology letter to Mason Malmuth as well as John-Robert Bellande's trip to jail. The password and format is then given to the Pokercast Invitational for Pokercast on July 6th. (Featured guests: No Guest)
