This week on the Pokercast: It’s a truly international show this week, Terrence has returned to his winter home of Hong Kong and we get ahold of him to update you on this week in the poker world. In “In Case You Missed It”: WCOOP is nearing it’s end and the highest buy in online tournament ever is in the books with all of the familiar high stakes players making an appearance. We run through the rest of the events of the week also. News surfaced about a new spyware that hackers are using to see the hole cards of Pokerstars players and we tell you who it’s affecting and how to avoid any attacks. Also, Phil Hellmuth does a Reddit AMA with some revisionist history, new main event shows and a Pennsylvania representative sponsors a bill to legalize online poker but in doing so says something pretty absurd. Our feature guest this week is also our inductee to the Internet Pokers Wall of Fame. Randy Blumer started the first online poker room: Planet Poker. Randy joins us to talk about how he got the room off the ground, some stories of running the first online poker room and how the industry came to be. Then we review this week’s tweets in “140 or less”, dive into the mailbag and Matthew Hilger joins us from Pokerstars HQ to talk about WCOOP, players satellite into big buy ins for just FPP’s and how to stay in the nicest rooms at the PCA for a discount. Terrence has a few hands for review from WCOOP’s that he played, and Rossco has some hands in the report. Plus the password to the Pokerstars Invitational is in the show! (Featured guests: Randy Blumer)
