What is the primary role of the church? Some today argue that its primary task is to participate with God in the redemption and reconciliation of the world through the means of either right wing or left wing social activism. But in 2 Cor 5:19-20, Paul teaches that God has reconciled us to himself by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In other words, reconciliation is a completed event that we are called to announce and proclaim. On this program, the hosts, with the help of Craig Parton, will discuss the implications of the 2 Corinthians passage on the way we understand the mission of the church (originally aired Aug 21, 2011).
